The challenge was to modernize the Domus Aurea brand to appeal to a discerning, contemporary audience while maintaining a sense of elegance and timelessness. The existing identity was outdated and no longer represented the company’s forward-thinking approach to property development. The goal was to design a brand that would resonate with a new generation of clients and position Domus Aurea as a leader in the luxury real estate market.
I was responsible for the entire visual identity creation. My responsibilities included:
- Logo Design: Conceptualizing and developing a new, distinctive logo and logomark.
- Visual Strategy: Defining a comprehensive brand aesthetic, including a new color palette, typography, and visual language.
- Brand Guidelines: Compiling all design elements into a cohesive style guide to ensure consistency across all future applications.
- Client Collaboration: Working directly with the client to understand their vision and present design concepts for feedback.
My process for this project was rooted in strategic research and conceptual design. I began by creating mood boards to explore various visual directions, from minimalist to classic. I then moved to sketching and digitizing logo concepts, focusing on simple, elegant forms that would be both unique and professional. The final logo was selected based on its versatility and ability to be recognized in various formats, from digital media to architectural signage.
The final solution was a refined and scalable visual identity that modernized the brand while honoring its high-end positioning. Key deliverables included:
- Primary Logo & Variations: A sleek, minimal logo with a custom logomark that can stand alone.
- Color Palette: A sophisticated color scheme that communicates luxury and professionalism.
- Typography: Carefully selected fonts for headings and body text that enhance the brand’s tone.
- Mockups: Visuals of the new brand identity applied to key assets, such as business cards, letterheads, and a website.
The new brand identity was highly successful, receiving positive feedback from the client. It provided Domus Aurea with a stronger, more competitive brand image that is better aligned with its target audience. The cohesive visual system gave the company a professional look and feel, helping them communicate their core values of quality and modern design to the market.
